6 months. At this job. I enjoy my environment!
Stopped by the Cafe today and was asked for what I was looking to eat today. Typically, this week, I would order the soup of the week to help me cope with my coughing. As I go to pay, the lady of the counter has told me that I don’t have to pay and to enjoy the soup.
At first, I thought I feel asleep at my desk because this never happens. She understood the stress I was undergoing with the sickness and she asked if I could only pay it forward. I am appalled. She doesn’t know my name, or anything about me but was willing to offer me the soup (and extra saltine crackers! *cue happiness*).
It comes to show that there are people in this world willing to care for others.
Keep fighting on, and don’t give up hope. Crappy days do happen to everyone and there will be times that you feel like you should need to go on any further. You would ask yourself “What’s the point?” Or “Does it even matter?” Which, the truth is, you know the answers to these questions. They are rhetorical, but you hope to have someone answer the questions for you.
The world isn’t all that cold. Escape from your box and find those answers, because at the end of the day – the lady will be waiting, to give you your soup.
