Diode Dynamics/Winjet Foglight Kit

First, I want to introduce how I was brought to complete this unnecessary but possible combination. I was driving late at night, on a public road, and was turning into the highway when I encountered a raccoon. As hopeful as I was at the time, the raccoon was making its way across the street and I slowed down to give it time. As I was speeding up as it was out of the way, it decided to move back and made contact with my front bumper. I drove all the way hope to find out that my front foglight bezel is missing and the foglight frame arms have broken off. This was VERY unfortunate, but that’s the past.

What I kept on my car, previously installed were:

 – H11 foglight harness with connectors

– Stainless steel mounting hardware set (4 screws, 4 wing nuts, 4 washers)

– 4 T-Tap wire connectors

The new hardware I installed were:

– 2 H11 Yellow Glass-lens foglight assemblies, (interchangeable left and right), with 55W H11 halogen bulbs

– 2 Gloss Black Fog/turn bezels (left and right side)

If you have read this far, YES THIS WORKS. I took this path because I hated how the insides of the Diode Dynamics foglight assemblies got dirty very quickly. I also wanted the yellow glass on the foglights for a cleaner look (with LEDS On and Off) and the gloss bezels to match with my raven black paint.

Installation took only 20 minutes and I love how it looks. To those who aren’t following my instagram, my new tires are in and the wheels are coming soon!

Pokemon Yellow

Oh, the nostalgia. The 8-bit goodness. I have been playing this game on and off for the last 1-2 months and I have finished the game! (Well, I didn’t really complete the Pokedex because its impossible on the Emulator.) This game is very unique because it allows you to catch the 3 Starter Pokemon; Bulbasaur, Charmander and Squirtle, the 3 legendary birds; Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres, and even MewTwo!

This last part was always the easiest, after beating the elite 4 of course. MewTwo. You throw the Master Ball, he gets caught, winner winner chicken dinner. As a kid, I remembered this game taking a lot longer to beat. Obviously, at that time, my intelligence was moderate – so understanding weakness, building a strategic team, and saving up in-game currency was the least of my worries. I just wanted to win and make my whole starter team strong to beat the elite four. Fast forward to now, I can understand why it was a pain to play. Fortunately, my emulator is on my phone. Back then, the Gameboy Color was the reason for this pain. Light was non-existent, the slightest shake might pop the batteries out so you would have to restart from your previous save point (I.E, speed bumps in the car. Thanks Mom), and the fact that you had to carry a consistent set of AA batteries to keeping the game(s) going.

In the end, the Pikachu following you around was always the best. Made me always want a pet (not to train and fight), in which i got a dog! Not a mouse like Pikachu, but equally lovable (:

Be open to decisions and understand

You will experience forms of negativity throughout your life. You will be afraid and that’s okay. There are others that share the same experience. Unfortunately, very few suppress the negativity. Instead, they reinforce it. There is no benefit. There is no purpose. There is only disappointment. You will never understand why it “needs” to be reinforced.

Fuck them. It’s cancer; how these people exist and think it is okay. Don’t confuse negativity with criticism or debate. There are always improvements that are necessary or valid points that are being made. But, to those who just think that everything you know or do is what everyone wants or thinks – that’s sad.

Not everything I say or do is correct. That’s okay, I’m open to hear what people think. I will try to understand you, as you, hopefully, try to understand me, and this is where a decision can develop. You can still choose to support your side, or you can choose the other. Either way, there is no wrong answer as long as you respect those who don’t have the same choice as you do. This shouldn’t result in hatred, fear, anger, or any correlated feelings. Just understand, and be able to move on. It’s okay. You have finally begun to understand why someone doesn’t want what you want.

Lets move away from negativity.

Decisions. Sometimes hard to make, many times very easy. But have you ever feel a time where you made a decision that you didn’t make yourself? As a kid, choosing your starting 5 when playing basketball at recess, or maybe what type of friends you want to have?

I feel like I was lucky. I met this goofy kid, while working in retail, but we worked different departments. I usually like to say hello to the new people who get hired because it helps with the communication as work (Which is necessary 100% of the time). Who knew that I would end up friends with this guy through a video game; in fact, a game that I never wanted at first. Destiny, on the midnight release, was bigger than I thought. Lots of people came into the store and purchased the game. We happened to sell a lot of energy drinks too (Not surprised). At the end of the shift, my coworkers went to buy their copies and recommended that I should get it. As reluctant as I was, I didn’t want to buy it. However, I somehow became very open to getting the game once I found out almost all of my coworkers had it. So, I said screw it…. and we played 15 hours straight. Dumbest and best decision I ever made.

Back to the goofy kid, we became better friends and was able to get to know his group of friends. The one thing that brought them all together? Cars. Another thing I was skeptical about. I loved cars as a kid and unfortunately lost interest growing up. However, after seeing everyone very happy and proud of the cars they owned, i said screw it… bought a new car the following day and never looked back. Long story short, those group of friends are now my very good friends and it’s nice to share a common interest.

Sure, I did make the decision to do all of these things; However, I also didn’t make any decisions at all – where I pretty much went with the flow. I was open to decision at these times, where I built my own curiosity. The “What if?” thing. Don’t be afraid to go with the flow. Sometimes, a decision is being made in front of you – and you unconsciously force a different decision. Be open to decisions, and understand those decisions. To the decision that you didn’t make, understand that decision and why you didn’t choose that one. Either way, you have made a decision and you continue on with life. Easy processes, no negativity, happy life.

Legsport Duckbill Install

Finally. The day has come to install this beauty. Below, I will go over every step I took to install the Legsport Duckbill (since no one has made a DIY yet.)

I will also post this DIY to the FT86 forum for a second reference.

Things you will need for the installation:

  • Microfiber Cloth(s)
  • Detailing Spray (Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer)
  • 3M double-sided mounting tape (Might be provided with purchase of Duckbill)
  • Optional: A friend to help
  • Time of Install: 5 – 30 minutes

Step One: Clean and make sure that no residue or packaging material is on the Duckbill. I suggest using Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer and a microfiber cloth (shown in step three). These will do the best job possible for getting anything off the Duckbill.

Step two: Prepare the duckbill by taping along the edges and curve crease. Be prepared to use all the tape provided! As you can see, I was given enough tape just to tape the important parts of the Duckbill, so please follow my tape pattern for optimal fitment.

Step 3: Once Duckbill has been prepped, proceed to clean the surface area of the trunk to prevent from any residue getting onto the tape of the Duckbill. We don’t want anything getting in the way and create a pocket for wind to get in! Again, I recommend Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer and a microfiber cloth to clean this area.

Step 4: Now that you have the surface cleaned, Duckbill cleaned and prepped with tape, and your helping buddy is ready – you can now proceed with placing the Duckbill onto the trunk. Be sure to remove the tape cover before placing the Duckbill on the trunk. This is where teamwork and communication is needed so that the Duckbill is placed on properly.

Step 4.1: I’m sure most of us may not have a buddy available to help and are doing the install ourselves. That is okay! I did this install myself and was relieved to know that this install was easy. Before removing the tape cover, place the Duckbill onto the trunk and position accordingly. Once positioned, lift the duckbill slightly so that you can remove the tape cover as you are firmly pressing the Duckbill onto the trunk.

Step 5: VIOLA! You have successfully installed your new Legsport FR-S/BRZ/TOYOTA86 Duckbill. Please be sure to secure the Duckbill by pushing down on the areas taped down to ensure that the tape makes contact with both the trunk and the Duckbill. Apply moderate pressure. I recommend giving the tape 2 – 3 days to settle before going on the roads. Unless you are a Dare Devel like me, you wait a day and drive up to 80 MPH/129 KPM (Legally, of course). Don’t be me.

You might be asking yourself “How does he know how to install Duckbills?” Well, I don’t, but that’s the fun part to modifications! If you have any questions or concerns or possibly made a few mistakes along the way, feel free to contact me and I will answer any questions you have.

Maki Ramen

This is the first time I have eaten ramen, besides out of a styrofoam cup. It looked very close to what you would see in Naruto. Especially those Narutomaki, those fancy pink and white swirl pads,  it’s fish paste that takes pretty good.

A whole bowl of soup, ramen, mushrooms, half a boiled egg, bulgogi, and a strip of seaweed wrap. One must be crazy to not eat this delicacy.

Maki is quite small, the size of a boba shop, but with all the amazing flavors. This might be our designated ramen shop (I’m lying. I’m always willing to try other places).

If you are in the area, give it a try!

Duckbill on the FRS

Speaking with friends, speaking with the company, speaking to my wallet.

Possible Duckbill to be installed on the FRS! I’m so anxious to see how this turns on. I’ve had this part on my mind for quite a while and finally…..my time to shine. Anyone have any luck with the Legsport Duckbill on their FRS?

I have seen very few cases of this duckbill and it looks fantastic. In addition, ITS CARBON FIBER. Happy me. I’ll make my decision sometime this weekend, so stay tuned!

Alone

Many times in life, I have moments of feeling alone. It could be on bad days, and even good days. Why do I let this happen to myself? The real question is, what can I do to make me happy?

As I stare at my phone, I begin to overthink about my life. Will I really make my parents proud, will I get to have a family, will I make a good living where I can support myself and my family, will I be happy?

I see myself in the reflection of a bathroom mirror and I see hope. I see a guy that has gotten this far in life and that can continue to do more if he tries. I can see happiness. I just can’t feel it.

I have met many people who hide themselves from the fact that they are vulnerable – that they are really scared. I’m scared too. I’m scared of not having a better future. And that’s okay.

I think back to history class in high school. King Leonidas and the fierce 300 in the Battle of Thermopylae. They faced much worse. The is no way in hell that they weren’t scared but they fought anyways because they knew the bigger picture. They have the future depending on them, Sparta depending on them, family depending on them. They fought till there was no more fight in them.

I’m writing to say that I am scared, but I can fight through it. This is weak shit. I need to pick myself up and move forward once again. I will have to fight this feeling everyday but I know it’ll be worth it. I can work hard for my happiness. Best of all, I have a family and a group of amazing friends that I know will and has always supported me. I can be happy. A little faith can bring you a long way.

You are never alone. It’s time to pick up the pace.
