Episode 175

Please do not read this is you are planning to watch the Naruto series! I warn you, there are plenty of spoilers below.

Naruto. A name you hear about a lot when kids speak about it, or maybe a millennial brings up their childhood, or maybe you just love eating Ramen. Either way, you may have heard this name once or twice in your life.

Yep, Naruto Uzumaki. This show has really shown a lot of imagery that could very well mirror the everyday events of today – almost as if it was foreshadowed by the creators. Nonetheless, the positive messages taught in this show give it its full value and is what makes this anime a great one to watch.

For those who are currently watching, keep going. For those who haven’t started, give it a chance. You’ll see it more than just a cartoon, but as a show with meaning. The episode I quote above made me truly believe in the power of Naruto’s story and how it can relate to the everyday struggles of depression.

Depression can be derive from any source. This could be from a breakup you had, maybe you just got let go of work, maybe you are anxious about how you look and you think people don’t like you. Sometimes it’s a battle against yourself. Naruto, as a child, has to face this reality. A boy who grew up with no parents and was a delinquent. He made trouble and started to act up because all he wanted was attention. Most of his classmates will never understand his true feelings because they have the blessing of parents that take care of them and motivate them.

In today’s society, we never take into account about what other people might be going through – whether they shows signs of depression or not. Naruto learned to hold a smile in the midst of all of the hatred he received. Kids called him weird, dumb, stupid, for what? Because he didn’t have parents? This isn’t a choice that children get to have. Naruto didn’t. I didn’t. My brothers haven’t. Many of my friends haven’t. It starts off tough.

Specifically and Metaphorically, Naruto fights “Pain” as his enemy in episode 175. Pain is a character whom was a refugee during the great ninja war (could be compared to world war 1). He fended for him and his friends, stealing food to eat, living in caves, etc. Anything he could do to help l, he would. He lost his parents during the Great War, where as a group of The enemy Shinobi (Ninja) broke into their home, although it was clear that the Pain and the family should have vacated the war zone. Pain and his family heard the Shinobi plundering any food they could find in the kitchen. Attempting to sneak out of the home, Pain accidentally alerted the ninja by knocking over a vase as they were escaping. Cautious, the Shinobi rushes to the noise and found his family. Pain’s father attempts to protect the family and gets stabbed in the chest in the process. The mother was later killed and Pain was next. Luckily, Pain has a secret power that worked to kill these Shinobi – the power of the rinnegan. The power of the rinnegan has been told to have similar powers of god, which can be used for destruction or creation, just by the force of power coming from the holder of this power.

Fast forward, back to the fight between Naruto and Pain, Naruto fights and fights and is able to weaken Pain to the point of death. Naruto falls back. He understands that hate is not the correct way to settle things in this world because “hate brings more hate”. Instead, Naruto fought Pain’s with the power of his words. Naruto spoke with Pain, Sympathizes with Pain, and proves to Pain about the dangers of how the world may be if pain and Hatred drives the world. Pain has already killed the many people that Naruto knows and loves and is able to still sympathize with Pain. On his final breath, Pain uses his powers to bring all of the dead back to life. Those who fought against Pain during the fight, who died, has been given a second chance at life.

This is a fictional story. There are times where people may want to hurt or kill, in this world, because they are getting picked on, harassed, or disposed. For those who are currently experiencing this, please keep your head up. Not a day goes by where I look back into the times where I felt this weird feeling… Even in middle school, where I had friends, and still felt as if no one cared. To this day, I am past college and have a small group of friends that loves the things I love. Most importantly, they care, the understand, and they motivate. They are like the friends I have always wished for in my life. Even better, I have a girlfriend who not only wants to better herself, but to better me as well. Not a day goes by where I felt this weird feeling….. of pain and overcome the depths and evil of pain to understand that happiness is found by the little things. Your little group of friends, your relationship, a fun car, etc. Thank you Pain, and most importantly, thank you Happiness.

Just in time for Halloween

I had a wonderful time with my girlfriend this weekend! I had dinner with her family, had plenty of time to study, and even fit in time to finally take care of the “bouncing” issue my car had.

I do apologize for the lack of posts, I have been using a lot of time to work on my programming and I have done more work in two weeks than I could ever do in a semester in class. Needless to say, I have plenty of stories to tell.

I hope everyone has been enjoying life so far and thank you for your patience!

Diode Dynamics/Winjet Foglight Kit

First, I want to introduce how I was brought to complete this unnecessary but possible combination. I was driving late at night, on a public road, and was turning into the highway when I encountered a raccoon. As hopeful as I was at the time, the raccoon was making its way across the street and I slowed down to give it time. As I was speeding up as it was out of the way, it decided to move back and made contact with my front bumper. I drove all the way hope to find out that my front foglight bezel is missing and the foglight frame arms have broken off. This was VERY unfortunate, but that’s the past.

What I kept on my car, previously installed were:

 – H11 foglight harness with connectors

– Stainless steel mounting hardware set (4 screws, 4 wing nuts, 4 washers)

– 4 T-Tap wire connectors

The new hardware I installed were:

– 2 H11 Yellow Glass-lens foglight assemblies, (interchangeable left and right), with 55W H11 halogen bulbs

– 2 Gloss Black Fog/turn bezels (left and right side)

If you have read this far, YES THIS WORKS. I took this path because I hated how the insides of the Diode Dynamics foglight assemblies got dirty very quickly. I also wanted the yellow glass on the foglights for a cleaner look (with LEDS On and Off) and the gloss bezels to match with my raven black paint.

Installation took only 20 minutes and I love how it looks. To those who aren’t following my instagram, my new tires are in and the wheels are coming soon!

Two years

The big TWO. I have gotten to a point in my life where I realize that I am growing up.

Backtrack to a younger me, I made plenty of mistakes and I am glad to have had those experience to learn and grow. My beautiful girlfriend entered into my life two years ago, on September 5th, 2015. It all started with an unintentional Skype video chat – I’ll get into details about that at a later time.

With the two years we have been together, I can our relationship is not perfect. We have had fights, unnecessary arguments, and tears shed. We have had wonderful dates, smiles all day, endless laughter, and unconditional love. What we have gone through, these past two year, have built us to where we are now. I have no regrets. I know that being with this girl is the one decision in my life that was right. How do I know? I can feel it in my gut.

Thank you for the wonderful two years, and for many more to come, my beautiful angel.

Speaking with “higher-ups”

I am happy with the people that lead our team. The sense of them wanting to help you better yourself in your career is amazing. I spoke with a Senior Lead (We can refer to her as Alice) in our Creaive Design department about life and my career and was told to get in contact with her once I gain more experience or I finish school.

Now that I am back at with the same company, I get contact Alice and she remembers me! We connected on LinkedIn during my internship days and explained to me about the work they were doing at the time, which was 360 integration (with the 360 cameras and such) for shark week. After speaking with her, I was able to get in contact with her Managers and was set an appointment to meet up with my director, the department VPs and Alice!

As I grow older, I understand more about communication and staying in contact with people. It makes sense that networking is another tool to use in life – to help progress. The simple act of speaking to someone, communicating and letting everyone know that you are here and ready to make a difference is powerful. The relationship you build with people really matters, and if you can make an impact, your name will be rememebered. I promise you this.

Happy Hump Day!

Saying Goodbye

It’s a little weird, moving from job to job so quickly. I was just getting very close my coworkers and things we finally picking up after many ideas and decisions.

Things are looking up for the progress of my career. I get to work at a Fortune 500 company everyday, I have a beautiful girlfriend that supports me every step of the way – going the extra mile by getting her degree and working at the same time, a tough, motivating family that has my back, and you, the reader.

My stories are meant to tell you my experiences of life. What I have gone through or am going through, which may hopefully help those that are trying to find out what to do. It’s not an easy process, believe me. Especially without a degree, but this is where you have to pick it up 100 times more.

I’m blessed, and so should you. You have a chance to live, plenty of time to succeed, and lots of room for error. But hey. I’m just getting started.

Legsport Duckbill Install

Finally. The day has come to install this beauty. Below, I will go over every step I took to install the Legsport Duckbill (since no one has made a DIY yet.)

I will also post this DIY to the FT86 forum for a second reference.

Things you will need for the installation:

  • Microfiber Cloth(s)
  • Detailing Spray (Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer)
  • 3M double-sided mounting tape (Might be provided with purchase of Duckbill)
  • Optional: A friend to help
  • Time of Install: 5 – 30 minutes

Step One: Clean and make sure that no residue or packaging material is on the Duckbill. I suggest using Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer and a microfiber cloth (shown in step three). These will do the best job possible for getting anything off the Duckbill.

Step two: Prepare the duckbill by taping along the edges and curve crease. Be prepared to use all the tape provided! As you can see, I was given enough tape just to tape the important parts of the Duckbill, so please follow my tape pattern for optimal fitment.

Step 3: Once Duckbill has been prepped, proceed to clean the surface area of the trunk to prevent from any residue getting onto the tape of the Duckbill. We don’t want anything getting in the way and create a pocket for wind to get in! Again, I recommend Meguiar’s: Quik Detailer and a microfiber cloth to clean this area.

Step 4: Now that you have the surface cleaned, Duckbill cleaned and prepped with tape, and your helping buddy is ready – you can now proceed with placing the Duckbill onto the trunk. Be sure to remove the tape cover before placing the Duckbill on the trunk. This is where teamwork and communication is needed so that the Duckbill is placed on properly.

Step 4.1: I’m sure most of us may not have a buddy available to help and are doing the install ourselves. That is okay! I did this install myself and was relieved to know that this install was easy. Before removing the tape cover, place the Duckbill onto the trunk and position accordingly. Once positioned, lift the duckbill slightly so that you can remove the tape cover as you are firmly pressing the Duckbill onto the trunk.

Step 5: VIOLA! You have successfully installed your new Legsport FR-S/BRZ/TOYOTA86 Duckbill. Please be sure to secure the Duckbill by pushing down on the areas taped down to ensure that the tape makes contact with both the trunk and the Duckbill. Apply moderate pressure. I recommend giving the tape 2 – 3 days to settle before going on the roads. Unless you are a Dare Devel like me, you wait a day and drive up to 80 MPH/129 KPM (Legally, of course). Don’t be me.

You might be asking yourself “How does he know how to install Duckbills?” Well, I don’t, but that’s the fun part to modifications! If you have any questions or concerns or possibly made a few mistakes along the way, feel free to contact me and I will answer any questions you have.

Florida Seas

The open sea is amazing out here. Lots of fish to catch, friendly sailors, and cheap beer. Well, all fun and games till your best friend start throwing up because he is seasick. RIP his stomach.

If you ever decide to travel down to South Beach, Florida, rent a boat (private preferably) and go fishing with family or a couple of your friends – It’s a great experience! Be sure to fish in the morning time. This is a great time for King Mackerals, Barracuda, Mahi (occasionally), etc, come out and bite. Since the boat is private, there is no concern for space to sit, rest, or fish. Best part, we got to bring our dog along for the ride! Once you make it back to the docks, you can filet and debone your fish for no cost. All together, for just one boat, private, was around $500 before tax. You’re looking into about 4 -5 hours of solid fishing!

For our trip, we caught about 6 fish. 5 King Mackerals and 1 Bonito.

The King Mackerals we kept, but we decided to give the Bonito to the Captain so he can use it for future bait. For any beginners, give up your Bonitos. They are not good to eat. They are mainly used for bait. No worries, the 5 King Mackerals we caught can feed our whole family for two nights. That’s 16 people and a dog!

All in all, it was quite the experience and a great workout. We learned so much from the captain, and he is a Maryland man! What are the odds? We cooked these beauties and our dog even had his own plate. He left no scraps. Good dog.

Family reunion

We made it! It’s not as sunny as we thought it would be. It’s raining. It’s pouring. More or less, there are old men snoring.

The beach house is wonderful, because we are near the shore and say hi to the people to boat down the strip. The best part to this vacation, is that our labradoodle is getting so much attention from tourists and locals. He loves it so much! Crazy enough, he has been spoiled a lot – with a $12 meal as the record so far. But, we love him. He’s family and we all eat good.

Today is a simple day – we travel down to south beach to have lunch with the whole family and take a boat tour of the city. The only thing that can top today, is if Bernice from South Beach Tow comes and we get her autograph!

RPMs staggering from 1k down to 400

I hate this. Half the time I feel like it’s gonna stall out from me. Don’t buy an FR-S, ladies and gentleman. (Is it an 86 now?…yeah whatever, i’m kidding.)

Maybe this baby needs a tune. I’ve heard about this ridiculous open tablet that can flash the ECU of the car to help with this issue – maybe keep it at a solid 1k. But for $499? You can kiss my sweet ass before I decide to buy that. Looks like I’ve got a lot to research to figure out a cheaper way of tuning my car.

Besides that, I just recently purchased the Fumoto Oil Drain Valve, which I will install very soon because my oil change frequency is very close to car washes, and a secret new part will be coming shortly after!

I’m excited how things are slowly growing for this car and I’m happy to have a group of friends who have a strong passion for cars. Without their help, installations would take long, YouTube would be my only friend, and I’ll magically screw up and turn my car into a piece o’ shit. Luckily that isn’t the case.

Thank you for those who are currently following my build! For those who are slowly coming in, I also appreciate your time and I hope to show you my wonderful work of art!
